Help Us Set the Guinness World Record

Submissions for this form are closed.

Funny thing happened the other day.  Guinness Book of World Records contacted us and asked if we were prepared to compete for a world record.  The world record for the largest gathering of zombies is held by New Jersey  with 4,093 on 30 October 2010.  That is so depressing I almost dug my own grave.

We can beat that.  We Utahns love Halloween, we sure do love the zombies, and Utahns don't back down.  We need you to get the word out to all your friends, family, acquaintances, enemies, frenemies, and everyone you know – Night of the Running Dead in Salt Lake City, Utah is going to break the record in 2011.  Not only break it, but SMASH it…we want to hit at least 5,000 people!  However, this is extremely short notice, and so we need your help.

Per the rules of Guinness, we need a headcount to count of people as they check in.  In fact, this is such serious business, we have to hire an auditing firm to count everyone off.  So, we need you to check in first by filling out the form below, and agree to the specific guidelines.  You can also read the PDF file (see link below) if you want to see all the rules.  If you need help with makeup, we will have face painters on site that can do a quick makeup job for $5 or so.

Help us do this.  We can do better than New Jersey.  We know Utahns love to hold records, and this is something we can achieve, year after year.

The final count for all participants will be on race day (October 15, 2011) at 1 PM at the Utah State Fairpark.  Please note, this does NOT include participation in the 5K Run, or 1 Mile Walk.  Those can be registered for seperately.
